You might be able to bodge something together but a new housing would be better. Might take quite a bit of searching for a replacement T-piece.

Thanks Freaky. I have found a threaded T piece on Ebay and will give this a go. Will report on it.

Just a word of warning talking from experience. If you do "bodge" something together, make sure you do a very good job of it! When I got my 1992 1.6 eunos, all was hunky dory until I was traveling up the a1 to work when plumes of steam were pouring out of my bonnet. Turns out the previous owner had "bodged" it back together with chemical metal. So be careful.

Will let you know .I have just had to order a small ratchet tap holder from ebay as space is a bit tight, should be by the w/e. The T.piece is item 300915251611

I had a similar problem and bought a brass 'T' piece from Ebay and turned this down and drifted it in.

So far all OK but would have prefered a threaded one but did not see these.

Could you let me have the item number and I will buy one for a just in case scenario?

Well its done and it works, fitting the T piece is a bit of a fiddle as there s not much room to drill and tap, but a lot easier than stripping the front off the engine and a lot cheaper. mazda mx5 mk1 thermostat bypass tee http://r.ebay.com/hx3aai

The brazing seems to be good and strong but then I know very little about it

Wish they were then my life would be a lot easier. If it had been £10 quid for the bit of ebay I would have had one but at £25 thats too much.

Maybe you have got a good money making idea for someone . Is there anyone that could manufacture them on here I wonder and can knock them out a decent price I wonder
