1.6 Mk1 Thermostat Housing Help Please.

Found coolant leaking from where the bypass hose and the throttle-body hose connect to the thermostat housing via an 8mm T piece pressed into the housing. So set about changing the hoses, but found not only did the T piece drop out of the housing, there is a crack in the metal T piece. So can I buy a new T piece and bond it into the housing, if so who sells them? Or is it a new thermostat housing with all that entails, cambelts off etc etc. Just hoping one of the clever mechanics has a simple answer please,

Just a word of warning talking from experience. If you do "bodge" something together, make sure you do a very good job of it! When I got my 1992 1.6 eunos, all was hunky dory until I was traveling up the a1 to work when plumes of steam were pouring out of my bonnet. Turns out the previous owner had "bodged" it back together with chemical metal. So be careful.

Thanks, this one needs a Bsp thread taping into the housing so I have hopes.

Bit steep but is anyone mass producing them for ÂŁ5, nope.

Would have liked to have seen the joint welded rather than brazed.
Wish they were then my life would be a lot easier. If it had been ÂŁ10 quid for the bit of ebay I would have had one but at ÂŁ25 thats too much.

Maybe you have got a good money making idea for someone . Is there anyone that could manufacture them on here I wonder and can knock them out a decent price I wonder
