Jumped in my Accord Type R daily driver about 11.30 this morning, for a quick trip to Morrisons before my little lads 2nd Birthday party. While sat at the lights I noticed a lovely red Mk1 behingd me, whilst looking in my mirror, I noticed the fookin roof was up

I wouldn't mind but it must of been 20 Degrees and not a cloud in the sky, saw a few more Z3's and Street Ka's the same makes me wonder why oh why these saddo's by a soft top if on the perfect day they don't use it, anyway rant over.

Yep I was behind a soft top mini today, they had the roof up!

Saw two Mk 1's on my way to B & Q both had the tops down enjoying the sun.

Made me envious, we should have been in our's, sadly 4 bags of compost a wacking big parasol and a base weighing as much as the Mk1 (well nearly) goes better in the Signum.

Our turn tomorrow, off down Warwickshire top down all the way and back, better not rain

I had my roof up driving home from work at 6pm from bolton to bury because its a short journey and dont see the point, and also bolton is rough and lot of idiots about who would snap up trying to pinch my bag from my car. I just wont risk it in bolton and breighmet.

Tomorrow roof will be up driving to radcliffe cause i have to leave my car at mums while me and my brother and his friend go for a walk at dovestones reservoir.

As a general rule, I normally keep topless driving for B roads. In town I can't be arsed with unzipping the back window for short journeys and on A/M roads it's not comfortable for long driving - especially over 69mph.

ETA: Most of my driving is B roads though, so it's all good

roof firmly down today for the first time since I got the new car. Couldn't stop myself smiling

, I was grinning like a proper idiot!

Did have a white mk1 behind me with its roof up for a while on the way home.

I'm also sick of all these roof up people.

There's at least 6 softtops in work, z4, z3 couple of meganes, minis and beetles.

I'm the only one that's had the roof down ever... I have the roof down always unless its raining.

Most of these cars you're paying for a premium for a convertible why would you not have the roof down??

Weirdos!

I think I got burnt today because I had the roof down. I'm going back to running a hardtop...

Hmmmm, watched the roof up brigade for years now asking 'why!?' At the risk of sounding sexist, which isn't my intention at all, I'm afraid 9 times out of 10 you see a roof up it will be a woman driving, or at least as a passenger. This leaves me to believe that it's all down to the fact that your hair gets ruined! My ex hated driving with the roof down for that very reason. I hope this isn't taken the wrong way guys!

Live and let live. I don't always put my hood down and I didn't buy the car because it's convertible.

I had a new hood put on last year and had to keep it up and stretched for quite a while, it was during this time, I kept wanting to have the hood down
Image
, even though it was winter!

I'd hate to think I'd be driving along with a fellow MX5 "top-down driver" passing and frowning at me because of my decision not to put the hood down.

Well SWMBO made me proud yesterday.(Perhaps I ought to rephrase?)
Sitting in taffic hood down adjacent to a full bus stop, some guy early 20's with mates shouts "Wankers".
SWMBO retorted(taking her shades off CSI style so she could be recognised) "Callum, you always were a moron.Sad to see you are living up to my expectations. BTW,you just missed the bus.Tarra!"
She taught the tosser 2 years in a row. He died right in front of us.

A decent windblocker & an assortment of hats & i don`t get any moans from erindoors.

Mind you i`ve had mainly convertibles since we first met 36 years ago so you could say she`s aclimatized by now

My roof stays down almost permanently now it's not constantly threatening to rain!

Still had no waves though since I moved to a Mk2
Image
Although I did have a nice couple pull up and offer me some bits and bobs for the Mx5 whilst I was parked at a supermarket to get cash!

Somebody please wave if you see me, I feel a right idiot waving or acknowledging all '5s and having no reply every time!

A lad I worked with had a 5 for I think 8 years and is currently hankerin after another, he virtually never put his roof down, (no aircon either) he likes the 5 purely for it's handling,

my hardtop is still on but that's becouse after getting it painted last week it never really moved untill yesterday and today and that was to come to work , it's cold at 6:30 am anorl lol,
I also need to sort somewhere decent to store it,
if the weather is this good for my 6 days off then the roof will soon be off,

also when it's really hot I prefer the roof up with the aircon on (needs re'gassing) rather than my head feeling like a boiled egg,

Well we've only had the 5 for a fornight now and the roof comes down everytime we drive it unless it looks like rain. The heater is awsome and keeps the cold chill at bay.

SWMBO will even drop the roof to drive home from work through Hull a distance of 5 miles - she loves it.

Only hope we don't wear the mechanism out

SWMBO has the right attitude. And attitude goes much deeper than idea. Get a garage to park it in and you won't wear the mechanism out.
