What model MX-5 have you?

I know on mine and another car I owned, if you lock/set alarm with the key fob then unlock via key in the door lock it sets the alarm off.

I do not have a fob just use the key in the lock. Battery is fully charged as it starts first time every time.

I have a 2004 1.6.

I have been trawling the net trying to find a wiring diagram/manual for a Mk2.5 2004. But that all seem to be for Miata or 2006 onwards. I found 1 diagram with no mention of alarm!

For now I just have to leave it unlocked and it seems fine, as soon as I lock then unlock off it goes.

What do you think?

There is a transponder fitted in the plastic head of the key which activates the alarm and immobiliser on locking.

This sounds like a job for a pro.

 

Hi folks. I sorted it!! I took the door trim off and the plug had came apart, (red lead to voilet) refitted it and it was a bit lose so a cable tie, job done and so far no more problems.
