Thought I'd start a new thread for this now I've picked it up. It will be bea slaw start as it's living at my parents' house until I sell the mk1 :(

Here's the obligatory 'fuel stop on the way home' shot...

Initial plans are to:
Replace the rear bumper which currently sports a badly installed fog lamp
Reduce the amount of tan inside
Fit my bucket seat, harnesses and roll bar to follow
Perhaps source and fit a black passenger seat too
Put on the standard mk2 15" wheels and RSRs
Clean and protect as it's currently quite rust free :)
Remove the chrome style bar

Longer term plans:
Front lip (oem or rx7)
Side skirts (oem, maybe)
Duck tail or oem spoiler

Oem front lip and skirts, and a Vindi ducktail on a white mk2 works well ;)

I'm picking up a mk2.5 black interior on Tuesday but no carpets or seatbelt tower plastics. I think I'll fit a bit at a time rather than all in one go, certainly the dash can wait until spring/summer...

Also picked up a new rear bumper this week, although it will stay on the shelf until I get a lip and possibly skirts so I can get them all painted together.

I've had body work stuff for years, still haven't fit it!

Nice cheap quick mod is the 'detango' from the headlights and side repeaters

Do you know that the mk2.5 door cards aren't a direct fit? The door handle position (and possibly a few of the fixing positions?) are different.

Yes I read a guide on here, doesn't seem too tricky to make a piece to fill in around the handle...

Finally brought it home on boxing day and tucked it up for the winter

Then promptly retaxed it and used it for work today as my wife's brand new shitroen is being a twat and is in for repair. Blew the a/c fuse on the way home which meant no fan or heated screen which was a pain, doubly so as I find it needs mini blade fuses rather than normal of which I have none, so it's a silent drive to work tomorrow.
Also whoever fitted the lockewood dials is a prick. I thought the speedo needle was just badly positioned at 10 rather than 0 but it turns out it's completely the wrong face and only reads correctly at 40mph. Looks like my custom dial face project just jumped up the list, once I figure out how it should be configured...

Hmm found out why the rear shelf was wet, this is one drain hole

And I couldn't get a pic of the other as there's a bit of hood which isn't bolted to the rail in the way...

Oh well, at least it should be an easy and cheap fix, but I'll have to get it out of the garage as god knows what's in the drain holes, but I'm sure I don't want it on the garage floor!

Big fan of the white mk2s always have been be good to see this progress

Lots of little jobs to do in the near future plus a mk2.5 dash swap and possibly one other significant change which will prevent any other significant changes this year (due to cost) but would be pretty damn cool if I can make it work out! Clue: they're made of kevlar...

The 2.5 dash is the same as the mk2 dash except the 2.5 has a visible vin and tag riveted on

Yeah but the dash and centre console in mine is tan and the centre section is a bit tatty, so I picked up a black mk2.5 interior. Added bonus as it's from a UK car it's got the correct fog light switch and a decent single din cubby. I think it'll make quite a difference.

Fair one... I only mention it as I have the 2.5 dash in my mk2 along with the wiring loom etc.

I hadnt considered the baby poo colour of your plastics

Fortunately either a previous owner has replaced some of the tan or the mk2s had less tan but the seat belts and seatbelt towers are already black, it's got black mats and the seats will also be swapped soon, more on that later :D

Can't help you there but I do prefer my black interior now, suits the white better, but I do miss the tan sometimes, especially the seats but that's my sparcos to blame more than anything

Tip for dash swap, take the pillar plastics off first, handbrake unbolted and gear level out

Had mine in and out loads of times now and easy to get out on your own with those bits out the way.

Wiring I disconnect off the top of my head, blower motor/ac thing if you have it, hazard button, electric windows switch, cig lighter, earth wires connected to metal frame, and i think big blue main plug near steering column, heater cables and control panel disconnected.

Just noticed you mention the loom, is there much difference between the mk2 and 2.5 dash loom? Am I about go create loads of work for myself :/
I'm not sure I didn't do the vvt conversion but for simplicity the whole loom was swapped

I changed everything to black now mate.

All plastics were tan
