Hi all,
I own a Japanese-market 1998 (Mk2) Roadster RS-spec, which was imported into the UK a number of years ago.
When it came into the country, it was converted to read in miles and mph while using the original gauge faces, with the only visible indication being that the 'K' in 'km/h' was coloured over with a black marker.
I haven't had a problem with this before, and it reads well enough (although the needle swings about wildly at idle, but hey, I know I'm not moving), but the last time I took it for an MOT test I was told that as it's obviously a km/h gauge the mileage had to be noted as being in kilometres, as they couldn't confirm that the conversion had been carried out.
So, long story short, where can I get a gauge face that has the same 0-180 layout, but that says 'mph' as it would on a UK-market car?
I'm aware of Revlimiter, and I know they could make me up a custom set with the redline in the right 7,500rpm spot for an RS-spec, but at $129, plus the custom design time and postage to the UK, I'm hoping there's a more affordable option. Of course, I could always just put an 'mph' sticker over it and hope for the best, but I want something that looks a bit smarter.
