That was a pretty good outing, even though we never actually made it to Tan Hill! We got lost and drove through some village 3 times, I think they all thought we were having a laugh!
Lost, no phone signal, sat nav telling porkies:

5 of us ended up at a pub on the way back to Skipton, then we headed back, took in some pretty breathtaking scenery too.
Anyone hear how the guy in the green mk2 is?
Sounds like you where in our group.
We got there in the end!
No news on the green mk2, hopefully he's ok

MX5 Yorkshire dales run out. Near miss with tractor hauling manure.

I waited at the bottom of the hill for him to come down to avoid having him pass on a narrow bit of road, plus he was going like the clappers, obviously he didn't bother slowing down.

I do enjoy driving in the Dales! My first go at leading a group of cars, but it was OK with such a small group!!! It's a bit difficult trying to guage the speed to drive at, apologies if I was too fast or too slow on various bits of the drive.

Shame so many people got lost, other than it not being a day out with other MX5s, a Sunday in the Dales when it's dry, sunny, warm and not too busy is always going to be a good day.

Sorry to hear about the crash, Loren told me it was Richard involved. As much as it's a damaged car, I really hope it's not a damaged driver. We might lavish our cars with care & attention (or not) but they are, when all's said and done, just metal & plastic and replaceable, people aren't.

If anyone's interested I'll put a route together for another Dales run perhaps avoiding cycle routes and quite so many single lane roads.

Pace was spot on I felt, bit of fun when it was visable clear and back off when it's not.. The sheer number of cyclists today made sure you where on your toes all the time.

The number of cars that turned up (Amazing) meant it was guaranteed we where going to fragment into smaller groups. Just glad I could keep up with the pack (this time)

I'm always up for a good run on either the Dales or my back yard again the Moors :)

Hi all. Thanks for your concern, it's appreciated, and thanks everybody for waiting with me, making me feel tonnes better.
Ended up in hospital in Durham, I've got 3 broken ligaments in my right foot, and otherwise fine. The driver of the other car was fine and his wife was taken in to hospital as she was quite shaken, though I was told that she was fine other than that.
Prior to that I had an amazing time with you all, so thanks again all, and I'm glad your day went ahead fine.

Glad there are no serious injuries. The rest is just metal and harsh life lessons..

Havent posted for a while since I sold my mx5, was great to see all the mx5s out, I miss my mk2 (and the mk1 before it) but saw the accident aftermath today, couldnt figure out what had happened (and probably too early to start so I won't) and had to come on to see how the driver was, I passed on my bike and saw him wrapped up and thought the worst, glad to hear he's ok.
