So I'm hoping you have seen my Mk1 Spoiler that I made, well I have at last got round to tweaking it to fit the Mk2 and Mk2.5... not too difficult a job, but again I wanted the finish to be good so I'm having the mould professionally made.

Mk1 spoiler looks like this

And we are nearly done with the Mk2 now. Same lines and subtle shape, but we have the first one fitted and ready to make a mould. Difficult to see how it will look due to the way the bootlid has been prepped for making the mould, but the fit is milimetre perfect so it should just sit straight on in the same way the Mk1 does. Oh yes, and I know the bottom has not got the cut outs for the lights yet!!

Hopefully the first one will be made on Thursday... so do any guinea pigs want a cheap spoiler as I need someone with a Mk2 to fit it to!! I bought the bootlid to get the fit spot on, but buying a whole car to model it for some photos seemed a bit excessive!!

I wish my car didn't already have a spoiler or I would have been your guinea pig for sure.

I would think it will be the same as the Mk1, so ?125, plus ?10 if you want it posted out to you.

I know its more pricey than some of the ones you can find on Ebay, but the finish is very good and is a proper polished Gelcoat not raw white fibreglass. If you have a black car (or just want a contrasting spoiler), you don't need to paint it or even polish it!
These can be stuck on using Tigerseal or similar and with a few clamps to hold it in place overnight, thats it! No rivets, bolts or filler required (unless you want to blend the whole thing in but thats your own choice).

I will start a thread in the For Sale section once they are available, and as with the Mk1 Spoilers, some money from each sale will go to Nutz to keep it going.

As for the guniea pig tester, would they need to come to you, or could it be posted out?

How far in from the back edge of the bootlid do the mounts for your spoiler go? On the Mk1, this spoiler covers over the holes for the OEM spoiler, so it fits fine... I'd imagine it would be similar for the Mk2?

Could be posted out, it needs a while for the Tigerseal to go off, so if they came to me they'd have to either leave the car overnight, or just put up with me rambling on / making rubbish cups of tea for about 5 hours!(I'm really selling that option, aren't I!!)
Holes for the 3rd brake light can be cut easily, I can do it for £10 extra, but it only takes about an hour to do... you just remove the brake light, clamp the spoiler on, draw the hole on to it from the back and then remove the spoiler and cut out the hole as marked!

Need to say that I'll only do it on the understanding that it would have to be fitted and some good photos provided back to me within max a week...

Cheaper spoiler equals less saving to do...

True enough, plus I'm pretty handly with rattle cans, so it'll probably be painted within a day of having it lol

I think I prefer the look without the brake light anyway, looks quite smooth.

Cheers buddy, its getting there! This spoiler will set it off nicely, just hope the funds roll in correctly lol

Because they are a newer car I think you may need the 3rd brakelight for the MOT but not 100% sure on that, so it would be best if these had the cut-out ready rather than an option like the Mk1 version

Good work Russell - I'd be interested in swapping my oem lip spoiler for one of these when they are good to go

I always thought 3rd brake lights were optional and it was legal to just have the regular one in each rear light.

They cant do you for it if the bulb in your 3rd brake light goes apparantly.

Will have to check!

But maybe having the cut out would be better just incase lol

Ahhh see I was under the impression that if you had a brakelight it had to work! So having an inop\brakelight is an offence.

Not sure about the rules on a third brakelight beeing needed on newer cars?

Think about it, they come optional on some cars, so not completely required. I'm sure someone mentioned it to me before that they cant do you for your 3rd brake light being out because its not a compulsory one lol

I remember removing the fog light on a car to get it through the MOT... so I'm 99% certain that if its fitted it has to work, but if it isn't there it doesn't... Best to check first though!
I don't want to cut holes unles I really have to as although its not a difficult job, its an extra hour per spoiler!

In other news, the fibreglasser is off on holiday as of thursday, so unless he rushes it (which I don't want him to do) he won't get one done before he goes off!

i have a fairly similarish oem mazda item, but not as duck tailed, well tbh, not much alike at all.

i want this one !!!
