That sounds nuts, any idea why the nb exhausts are so much more expensive than the na from IL Motorsport? I'd have one in a heartbeat if they weren't nearly double the price!

They dont do the exact same as mine for the nb..
The one i see for the nb and na after mone is seemingly new, They probably realised how good it was and put the price up and tweaked it a bit with the 90mm rolled polished stainless steel exit pipe, although its a greatly higher price its only got one picture of the new fancy tail pipe and no other pictures of the exhaust system which is annoying. 90 rolled polished stainless
Can't blame them, it is a bargain for the na. I now have a Cobalt back box and a Hoffman race mid pipe ready to fit, hoping it sounds as good as the videos I've seen

yes same car as mine ,, i also have a cobalt back box with a prper cross panel filter sound a lot better than stock but will be interesting to hear yours sounds with the hoffman race mid is fitted are you getting rid of the cat

I have an eBay induction kit on mine too so I'm hoping it will be a good combination.
I was going to decat it but the extortionate prices for such a small bit of pipe along with swapping it over for the mot put me off (£49 for a huge mid pipe, but £80+ for the little decat ) if I remember I'll link a video of it once it's on to give people an idea of n the sound (though there is one on YouTube with the same, just search Mx5 cobalt Hoffman)

just found that video sounds very nice just a bit louder and a slightly deeper note than mine , i dont have the mid pipe yet but think i will ... on mine i have to cut off behind the cat to fit the mid pipe ... i cant find a ss one though so i may go to local place and have one custom made cant be that difficult

Mine will be getting cut off from the cat back too (so rusty it is not worth the bother of trying to save it). From what i have seen and read the mid pipe makes a big difference, especially with the standard mid box being fairly large and the cobalt not being super noisy.

When are you fitting the mid pipe ...? Some mixed feedback on accuracy of manufacturing
Hopefully this weekend, my dad is an engineer by trade so shouldn't have too many issues with it. I will post here and on my build thread when i eventually get it done as to how easy it was and what issues i encounter. As far as looks go its a bit rough around the edges (and sharp) and the bends are not mandrel bends (you get what you pay for, fair quality for £49) but in all honesty I am after noise not performance so no issue to me.

Hopefully the tube is accurate enough to fit without needing replacement!
