edit: Although I can quite imagine that those who would frequent an RX7 forum and those that would frequent an RX8 forum would be very different people with a very different view on their cars. I for one see the RX8 as a Rotary powered modern Coupe. The RX7 is a purebred and highly unique sportscar, in particular the awesome FD

I love the (now retro) FC as well but the FD is

In some ways it would be more appropriate for us to be parked up next to another sports car marque (eg S2000) because we'd probably have more in common with them than a modern company car like an RX8...

I think it should be separate totally.

Nowt worse than getting 1/2 way and knowing there are MORE of the same type of car. part of the fun is not knowing what marques are coming up next, and having change.

I'd have to vote no as well, simply because of the politics that will become involved when several different clubs are working "together" and throwing various ideas into the pool. It's destined to create arguments and personality clashes over stupid little things if you ask me.

Keep Nutz as Nutz, we're big enough to hold our own and we don't need to hang onto the coat tails of other clubs to get noticed. If anything, we'll blend in too much and not be noticed as a club in our own right if we all line up together like that.

could it be possible to do a similar thing like the oc do with their Mazmania mini stand on their plot, but maybe have a p5 stand or some other mx5 specialist on our stand?

There's no real rivalry among clubs from what I have witnessed.

There's the Mazda Rotary Club, FD:UK, RX8OC who works closely with the MRC aswell even though they had a separate stand although I know it was a bit rushed last year, I'm sure longer term members will know more.

I VOTE NO - it's not practical, going to be an ass to organize and I think you're going to have to the blend into one boring Mazda marque disease, no matter what the cars look like or do.

I think if done properly it could be a lovely idea... however I am not sure how you would go about doing it 'properly'

It might take an awful lot of some people's time to set up and there is likely to be more people unhappy with being near each other than not being near each other if that makes sense!

I love having to walk all the way round the site to spot all the different clubs, and sometimes you come across one you didn't even think of when heading somewhere specific.

At jae this was Smoo seeing all the little Yarisi unexpectedly (plural sp??) as we were heading to the mr2 OC for a snoop

I have never been (hope to change that this year - other half, date, location permitting), but would imagine if its to promote Nutz, get new members, have a laugh, put a face to everyone we exchange notes with on this forum, do some 'willy waving' then you want the stand to be seperate with it's own identity etc

If it's to promote the MX5 as a car and and overall MX5/Mazda community then you would want to go with the joined up/all next to each other approach.

Based on my own experience of Nutz see it as the former (acknowledge not all members can willy wave

) and would therefore vote to go seperate if you put it to a poll

Therefore, shouldn't the decision should be based on why Nutz attends something like JAE....which is?

The site was really good this year, so getting a good site, that is split with "Roadster Avenue" and near to the camping, should be our priority. Nutz first the greater Mazda community second.

Don't think we want the OC right next to us, would cause too much confusion. And there is always the potential for a few problems like in 2006.

I agree, last year was excellent. I like the idea of being next to Mazda's but put the OC on 1 end and us on another

I have no interest in "promoting the mx5" - thats Mazda's job, and they have a budget of many millions to do this. I dont see why we should change our plans to help a multinational company increase sales when most main dealers refuse servicing to import owners and scorn any modifications

Nah, JAE Nutz stand is all about Nutz being together. We dont NEED the OC next to us, though i reckon the OC NEED/WANT us next to them to make up numbers (based on the last two years).

As in previous years, any OC member is very welcome to come over to ours and sit round the fire. Its up to individuals to decide which stand they want to be on. If a nutz member ends up being on the OC, then no hard feelings. However, experience has shown that in the past if an OC member (particularly an area coordinator!!) chooses to park on the Nutz stand, its been mentioned in OC committee meetings... FFS!!!
