Ok who knows anythings about costs of importing from Japan...

Ahhh shit that's affordable too affordable, except that I don't want to afford it except that I doooooo.

Ok I feel a little better, it's a 1.6 meaning it would be a bitch making an ultimate combination of that car and mine. I just mainly want the arches and bumpers.

hmm, now ive seen the front clearer on that white one, not sure i like the angles at all. just sort of looks like its trying to be an Elan or something. like the wheels but thats about it.

I can really see you wanting to get this car back to its former glory and preserve the history of it. When I found out that my car was a 'Corns' raodster I was really interetsed in the history and wanted to keep as much of the origianl Corns parts as possible.

I was in touch with Tomoyo Watanabe at Corns and found out as much as possible regarding the work that he did on it (and the subsequant repair work he had to do!).

So good luck, I hope you can save the original body, please get more photo's online as soon as you can. What is the current situation with it?

Cheers
Alex.

Well the good news is that Garath MX5 Restorer has taken a look and reckons it can be saved. The rear 1/4's are rotting out a bit and we expect this is due to the water being trapped between the kit and the rear 1/4 (the rear 1/4 effectively becoming and inner wing). Not much other rust tho' and sills are clean. Plan is, to cut out and replace rear 1/4's from inside the boot, then, dig out all the broken filler and re-fill.

The bad news, is that funds are going to be tight for me next year so, it all needs to be done on a budget. I did really want to see the original car go back to BRG, as it was made, but funds will probably mean it is kept Mariner Blue once done.

Really would like a set of Hayashi rear lights if not Barchatta if not Zoom... to replicate the original Hayashi look. A good friend has some Hayashi front lights too and I will pray at the alter of JDM that we might agree some part swapping... it would be SO good to see some original parts on this car. A set of Axis front lights and a GV rear light unit is hopefully useful bargaining chips.

I have also been trawling through the tinterweb trying to find hayashi front and rear lights, wing mirrors and boot and spoiler but i got nowhere at all, i found out barchetta rear lights are exactly the same as hayshi ones as when jack hayashi stopped producing them he gave barchetta permission to make them, but i couldn't find any of them either so i'll just have to trawl yahoo.jp for a while.
