Smart Top: Am I missing something or are they worth it?

Don't know if this is the best section to post this but seems as appropriate as any.

I installed a Smart Top on my previous car, a Mercedes Benz SLK, and, although a bit pricey, I could reconcile the cost as it did allow quite a bit of functionality.
I could remotely open/close the roof.
I could remotely open/close the windows.
I could do both of the above simultaneously and at the same time.
I could open/close the roof while in motion.
I could operate the rear windows independently.
All without holding buttons while the funciton completes
Several other functions related to other parts of the car, most of which I never got to the bottom of.

I was going to put one of these into the '5' but it quickly became obvious that some of this functionality could not happen due to the manual nature of the roof latch and later realised that even the windows are not automatically controlled but even with the reduced functionality the unit cost is simllar.

Just wondering if I'm missing some of the functionality of the Smart Top in the Mazda and/or how people who have plumped for one feel about it?

My car is an RC by the way not a soft-top!

I love mine for its basic and effective function of allowing lowering and raising roof while not at a complete stop, ideal for joining and leaving motorways when I tend to have the roof up, and for driving in Europe when hitting a heavy flash storm. Also extremely cool for arriving at car parks where need hood up for security

Does just what it says on the can; invaluable

Can you confirm that it is just a case of one hit on the up/down buttons and the roof carries on and does it's job, you don't have to hold the buttons?
Also can you configure to open the roof as soon as you operate the latch and don't need to also press the down button?
Is it still a manual job to return the windows to closed position?
Yea to 1 & 2h; I have not set system to drop roof as soon as unlatched but it's a set-up option

No, windows drop by one third on rood drop action but then you need to manually drop further or raise to suit

Cheers, I'll keep my eye out for a second hand one, don't feel like paying £300+ given the limited functionality and value of the car, I can see more beneficial areas for that outlay at the moment.
Tes, I treated myself when I finally sold my old near-new shox etc on fleabay
