I will be doing a refurb of my sills by lifting car up and placing on axle stands.

If the axle stands are supposed to sit on the sills where can I place them so I can work on sills without obstruction?

cheers

at the thick bits at the ends of the rails underneath for the rear

NOT in the middle of them

at the front, use the front wishbone mounts on the subframe.

I've recently fully undersealed and rust proofed all of the underside of mine and to keep the sills clear to re paint them I used the rear crossmember of the rear subframe just in front of the ARB.

Once you jack it up by the diff you can just get two axle stands in side by side in the middle, might be worth a try if your chassis legs are damaged or corroded as well?

Jack one side of the car up at a time and pop the stands at the thick bits on the end of the chassis rails. Gets the sill nice and high up that way. Jack up both sides and it'll lower the sill back down again...
