Welllll.....

Installed a Link and all is going fine....

BUT

If I sit in the car an touch the throttle in neutral and bring the RPM up to 1800, there is a sudden spike...

If I hold the throttle in the same place the RPM jumps up and down to 2400rpm and back down to 1800rpm.

I can hear the IAC (Idle Air Control Valve under throttle body) opening and closing, but I dont know why I get this spike!

I have tried to replace the IAC and even tried to swap ou the TPS but it still doesnt help this.

Can anyone help....?

PS Other than this the car drives fine once about 2000rpm

You should never be below 5000rpm anyway!!

bridge ten and gnd in the diag box and then try again.
If you still get it then unplug the iac valve (its 1 connector easy to spot)
Try again and then report back.

I thought the GRND and TEN does not work with the FM Link setup?

I will unplug the IAC and try BRB!

how often are you going to sit with the car in neutral and at 1800rpm though?

Very true, I will not be using the 1800rpm band much, but it just seems really strange!

I will have a look at a few other things, and maybe try it in 5th gear on a long stretch of road too. As is I cruise are 1800rpm the car may start to kangaroo!

right that means you need to adjust your idle via the screw if it dies with the valve unplugged.
Sort that first then try again and report back.
