You're not going to get a straight answer as the ride height of the MK1 varied from year to year.

It's going to be much MUCH easier for you to just look under the car at the shocks and springs, if they're both black and pretty rusty chances all it's all standard, if it's not then take a photo and post it on the forum.

You might have old tired springs so it sits lower, or have extra/less weight in the car due to sound deadening,seats, boot full of subs, all the braces ever made fitted. You might have different alloys/tyres so it looks like the wheels are filling the arches more. The rear arches could of been repaired(badly) so they sit lower making the car look lower so even if you had a measurement the arch lip to wheel centre it would be wrong.
