Hi guys! Thought I'd start a great on cars that I'm fixing up and selling on, if you're interested in buying any of these cars message me on Instagram @yugenmx5!

So here's number 1

The previous owner obviously took care of it, rust aside it's in really good condition!

It needs rust repair (obviously) and a new CAS seal and it'll be good to go!

Yep, what you're looking at is play doh it's obviously had some bodge repairs done in the past, it needs some love!

Further digging revealed some more rust

Started with rebuilding the structure in the weak points

Once the inner inner sill and inner sill were fabricated we got to welding it in

Quick rust protection done to seal it nicely!

Once the sills were done I moved onto the wings and arches and revealed more rust

This got welded up

The bottom of the front wing had gone on this side (and some moron welded a thick plate onto the bottom to bodge it so it didn't sit flush on the body) so I cut up a repair panel and welded it on

Also cut off part of the 2 quarter panels so I could rust protect the insides

That's about where I'm at for now! I'll post more pictures as things develop!

More progress! Cut out the OS quarter panel and cut out and plated the rotten bits. All fresh metal in there now! Tomorrow's job is to plate that sill end plate and treat the metal so it'll last for years.

I had a tail pipe like that on my first 5, a 1990 Mk1. Sold it on, the noise was incredible.

It had a very nice rumble! Not quite what I'm looking for for the business cars though, I like nice and OEM!

Been a while but we're back at it! Grinded the quarter panel off and chucked it away (last picture shows a bodge that someone has done) grinded all the rust off the inside of the panel and treated it. Waiting a day for it to dry and bond. Tomorrow we're on to building up the rear sill and welding in the new quarter panel!

Also got the next restoration project, it's a V Spec! Gonna enjoy getting this one back on the road, it's been sat for a couple of years!

Black 5 is in for paint! Started cracking on with the V Spec today, there was no sign of rust on the outside, as you can see that wasn't the case when we cut the panel off! Tomorrow we protect the metal and finish off the fabricating and welding for this side!

Welded the the rust protection on the inside of the quarter panel and wing! Also protected the sill end plate. Tomorrows job is the second coat on the inside of the quarter panel and then we're ready to weld the outer skin on!

It's interesting to see someone's already been well into the green one with the plug welds on the inner panel. I presume it must have been an insurance repair early in its life. Did they spot weld the outer panel back together?

How are you rebuilding the inner arch returns before the outer panel goes on? Bespoke sheet steel? It looked like the black one needed a fair bit of restorative work.

Yeah spot welded!
Exactly that, all built up with sheet metal and protected many times over!
