My p/s rer brake caliper has worn down the discs and pads and is making a horrid sound. At a guess I think it might be seized. Has anyone encountered this? Is it a case of replacing the whole unit, just the piston or can it be adjusted as it could just be rubbing? I'm a bit of a mechanical novice but want to do it myself, have a bit of experience so just wondering if it's a straight forward job. Any ideas?
Big thanks, andy

Probably the metal backing plate on the pads where the friction material has worn away, get them changed. If the discs are badly worn, you'll need to replace them too. I changed all four discs and pads myself for around ?100, piece of cake

Brake Discs Link - This is for a brake upgrade, but the removal of the discs is the same

The pads are pretty much always rubbing. I've bought new discs and pads and will get a new fitting kit next week, just didn't want to put them on if the caliper is buggered. Be back to square one again then. Cheers
