Just thought I'd put a little write up on my first Non-VAG motor. I've owned three Polo's before now, a 1994 Polo Coupe CL, 2003 Polo TDI Sport and the another Polo Coupe, in the form of a 1991 GT.

Been wanting one of these for awhile and having turned 21, I thought now was the time so the Polo was sold and this was tracked down on eBay just 12 miles away. The advert was appauling with wonky pictures and little detail. It didn't have the right engine, I didn't want a red one and it was UK spec but I went for a viewing anyways.

It drove mint and was mega clean, had been garaged all last five years, old man owned and in a very good area (his house could be regarded as a mansion!) Cambelt and waterpump etc etc had all been done and it was clear it had been looked after and cherished. A couple days later with some late night bidding and it was mine for a tidy sum.

First things first, I ordered some parts in. Coils and wheels were the two big purchases - ended up travelling to Wales for another eBay bargain. A brand new set of Ronal LS's! Wasted no time getting them fitted and giving her a quick clean the following weekend.

Next up - Interior. Really couldn't decide what wheel I was going to get, after awhile I took the punt and got a 330 OMP Racing GP. Really happy with it to be honest, much nicer than the dished suede item I had in the Polo. Digged out my old heavyweight stainless shifter and the Missis kindly bought me a tidy Kenwood Headunit for my birthday. A cheap set of black mats replaced the faded red ones it came with.

Couple of other bits and bobs have been changed, shortened plates, drilled airbox, new exhaust and the like. Bar that I've been mainly polishing to bring the paint up, waxing and treating the hood. In all honesty, it's the best car I've owned and blows all three Polo's out the water. Managed to fit everything in for camping too so its far from impractical!

Just for the comedy factor, my brother bought me the Disney Cars eyes so stuck them on pre-polishing.

Thanks again people. ^_^

Last night I took her out just for a drive, not done that in years and man I enjoyed myself. Had a play with a freshly rebuilt RX7 - the old dude had some apprecatition for the little MX5 before hooning off into the sunset.

Anyways, now I've done a good 400 miles and the suspension is settling in nicely, I've tweaked the ride height a tad and now she drives awesome. Can proper stick it into the corners and glide round at some speed. B)

Still can't get enough of the induction roar too..

Anyways, I got my Uncle a cheap runaround (Peugeot 106) for free the other week and in return, he's kindly given me his old polished looped style bar. Undecided whether to fit it as of yet, but I currently have a windblock fitted for the Missis - can you fit both or is one or the other?

Used to follow your Polo threads on CP and E38.

This looks great bud, such a classic look on the LS'. Not too sure about the hoop / windblocker thing, I think it may depend on the style of the blocker. Any pics of the one you have?

Just ordered a OEM front lip so should tidy the front end of this up nicely.

Still undecided on fitting the Eunos rear number plate panel mind and don't know what route I'm going with the seats yet - Eunos items or, to get some lightweight kit car jobbies in there!

So then, I recently did RTTS - 1000+ miles and didn't skip a beat!
There was some truely lovely metal there, and the weather was amazing the entire weekend.

Anyways, I had ordered a OEM R-Package splitter two weeks prior to RTTS thinking it would be here for that. It didn't turn up.
I came home to it waiting outside my flat door though - lovely and safe.

Took it to work the following day and fitted it on my lunch break. Who said MX's arn't practical?

Went out that evening to chase the last bit of the sun and try to get some snaps - only on my iPhone as my camera died.

I really want to put a little steering wheel like that in my car! :D
Not sure about the legality of removing airbags though (mine's an NB).

I'm not usually a fan of massively low cars, but this one is so nicely done!
