Hi mate, new to the site, had a mk3.5 as my main car which I swapped for an s works mini . Missed my mx5 so just bought a silver mk1 as a project and stumbled across your thread. Awesome build! I think I would have paid just to read about it, hopefully mine will be something like next year!!

I can't tell from the iturd pictures but is that a sheet of carbon fibre?

Nice work Ste. Has that helped with the seats too?

I don't have time to look through this whole thread, but some awesome stuff you've done there! I hope I see this in person at a Sussex meet one day!

Cheers! I usually try to pop to the Sussex breakfast meet so will probably see you there at some point.

Recently I realised just how bad the headlights were on this. They at least weren't sealed-beams, in fact it had Raybrig H4s fitted, but they were still rubbish. I almost bought new Crystal Raybrigs, but daunted by the amount of fake ones about, I just decided to buy some Autopals instead. Cheap, do the job and are really light as the rear is plastic. I fitted some Osram Nightbreaker Ultimates too.

One swapped:

Haven't had chance to try them yet, but as an extra bonus they look a lot better and saved 800g for the pair.

The reason I haven't had chance to try them is because of some super secret PANDAfactory developments. I've taken the car off the road temporarily as I've removed the brake compensator and am re-making the brake pipes to make more clearance for an airbox for the throttlebodies. I'm swapping a few things around to make a big intake for the airbox too. Part of that will be fitting this Honda Civic rad that I got from MX5 Dan (Universal Intercoolers) on here.

Yes mate, just a standard 7" headlight. I got mine from a Landrover place for about ÂŁ28 delivered for the pair. They're just cheap 'crystal' headlights made in India.

Moro, this is more my inspiration.

I think I can do it neater and more discrete though, would like it to be a lot less visible through the mouth of the bumper. Once measured up I'm going to model it in Solidworks and probably get the brackets and the intake CNC'd as I have access to a friend's CNC milling machine and punch. I may do a batch if anyone's interested?

This one looks mean as hell. I surely want something similar, but that must happen at some later point in time. For now I'll live with a sausage filter. Can't do everything at once, have to leave something to aim for. :) But yes, I may be interested.

And sorry to sound fawning, but I really look forward to see how your interpretation comes out, your build never fails to impress.

Good god! As Octane said, that is borderline pornographic and more importantly it's RHD and with master cylinder etc in place, didn't know that was possible.

Ste, any idea where I can get some more info regarding this car ie what throttle bodies are those, why can't I see a fuel rail etc??

Yet more good work on this thread. Like the work planned and it sounded bloody lovely the other day when you lit it up.
