And 2 tyres [emoji1787][emoji1787] 1 a lock up and 1 inside front rh tyre.
Thruxton is very hard on tyres.
With my extra boost i was easily able to sit on bumper of my mates bmw. Thought about passing on 2 occasions but i knew hed shut the door.

Well I did type a reply days ago but apparently it didnt send.

Sooooo time for more power then?

A larger turbo that has a little more top end and some careful boost control to keep below 220-240ftlbs will see you to a good bit more power that should still be safe for the stock rods?

I want to suck at the bosum of more power...goddammit...
Cars was more awesome.

I already feel the same about more power, but I’m only at 210bhp, so I have more to go before I worry about rods.
I have priced up parts for a bottom end build to get to 300bhp, but have no idea about machine shop prices, honing/boring balancing crank etc. any ideas on this cost?

What boost should it be running at?
I suppose if you had an issue, removed a part of the system (Mac valve) and now the issue is gone, you’ve found the source of the problem.
However if the wastegate spring is weakened, you might be only noticing creep at higher pressures.
Could you plumb in a manual valve to test the wastegate?

New gen Mac solenoid arrived yesterday. Ill fit tomoz. Mapped for 0.85ish bar so nearly 1.2 prob a 30 to 40 bhp hike.. at 226ft/lb defo rod territory.
Rods dampner and oil pump build plus bearings and gaskets knocking on door off 1500.
Bassest down quoted me a new fully forged build at 4500. Ready to drop in.
I got to keep it real, i wanna drive it and have fun, not spend my days off working on it, had that withmy westfield. Ended up hating that car so...were staying put . Its fast enough.

might have a set of B6t / 323turbo rods and pistons ;)

mx5 conrod/piston top for comparison.

B6t pistons are different to the B6ze(rs) Mx5 type, lower compression and different alloy etc. designed for turbo pressures....

Rich.

Mac soleniod duly fitted yesterday. Due to no tax no mot or ins cant test it.
So waiting for a run up check on unit 3s rollers. No real hurry no trackdays booked poss that its for me anyway for this year. Need x4 tyres and another day will be x8...

Yep and then onto next weak leak. 5 speed onto 6 speed...with a 6 speed ill need a 3.9 ...it goes on and on.
In all fairness im slightly insane and lack of forge build i make up for in bravery on track. There really isnt much that overtakes me on track. Everynow and then a faster car/ driver catches me and i move over. Battling with mates is fun too, if i just drove off into distance dont think it would be as much fun. I know my car is faster than my mates bmw as together we do a 1.30 round Thruxton on my own 1.27 but its fun. Ill stay as i am as im skint from holiday too lol. Usa very expensive, the bills are rolling in...
Looks like im gonna get a forge/billet actuator as std failed and expensive, may as well upgrade.

Well finding an actuator and bracket for a gt2554r is a pita. Spoke to Bofi and they assured me following pics will fit....but just been in garage and measured up and im not so sure the bracket is straight? And the rod is 20mm too long [emoji1781].should be here monday/ tuesday...
If no good ill just buy another standard 1..mamba had some but again a lottery as they dont return messages...
Just as well nothing booked.

I got an actuator and bracket from Bofi too. Mines for TD04 though. The arm on mine was too long, I was able to remove the locking nut to get it a bit shorter. The hole that went over the wastegate pin was too small so I had to drill it out.
£120 is a bit much for it not to fit, but I think it comes down to how the turbo is clocked.

Lol Serck Motorsport rang me...cant get an oem Actuator til January...rang around suppliers and Garrett direct no joy.
So bought a Universal Mamba 1 piston type viton seals 6 springs and 4 different rod lengths so should be fine.

Ill leave that upto tuner...boost pressures will be similar as comes with a 0.5 bar spring same as standard and its mapped for 0.8ish hi boost. Hopefully just mac solenoid duty tweaking, but no mot tax or ins...on the rollers...lol
