Few more piccys. Clean up tomoz. Plethora of parts...me221. Gizfab log manifold. Downpipe. Unknown coilovers. Cobalt exhaust. Aem afr r spec boost gauge, ls coils, bofi intercooler, japspeed ally rad. Fpr walbro 255. Cobalt rear brace. Nankang ns2rs on rota wheels. Hardtop. Jazz hardtop mounts, uprated engine mounts. Coolant reroute, .
The t28 turbo was chinese and the impellor nut came off and took out turbo...owner fell out of love.
Needs new turbo and uprated clutch and being a 1.6 prop shafts and torsen from 1.8.
Got a style bar mazda speed so b4 track decent cage hardtop compatiable, wilwood front brakes. Splitter diet mapping etc
149km cambelt n wp 2k ago.
Not bad for £1300 abit tatty but mot til dec...1 sill scabby. Oh and s special too looking at vin plate.

Yeah...i ran it with turbo off for about 5 secs...started up made a racket. At worst its a massive parts haul.
I didnt realise an s special til home and looked at vin plate.
New to turbo mx5s but had plenty of turbod car over the years.
Owner said it had an ebay t28 onit...which seemed to me a big turbo...my 200sx had a t25 if memory serves me right flanges are the same...
He is dropping some bits off like the old turbo soft top bits and bobs in a week or 2 so prob have to wait til then to spec a turbo.
Mtech is literally 5 mins from my house so handy for mapping the me221.
Ive been bofi site this morning..ker ching!!

Today is tidy up and clean..where its been sat water in boot and passenger footwell. B4 purchase removed plate pulled carpet up and not got to ecu or loom...close mind!!
Ive retired my rx7fd from tracj duties and sold my Rx8 powered westfield as to valuable in £ and what that car means to me....
Ive got to finish an ep3 ive been prepping for track then onto mx5.

Ill photo bomb....
Quick clean up moved ecu up mop up puddle. Battery off..

Turbo...t25? Choose a garrett off bofi site...any other recomendations? Would like 250bhp or max standard internals can take.
Recommend me a clutch...as light as poss though...ive got metal work in left ankle.
Looks like original turbo only oil feed no coolant lines...ideally id like to cool the turbo...
Anyways piccies.

Made a start...stripped out external wastegate as going internal...
Ghetto sill repair as track car...copius amounts of rust treatment.
Picking up a torsen 4.1 lsd prop n shaft friday as long as were not locked down.
Stripped mazda speed bar out...now hard top fits flush.
Hoovered...stripped battery out...general tinkering...
Coilovers are ebay gash.
Should be getting old turbo tomoz. Few piccys.
Made a shopping list.
Turbo
Clutch and 1.8 flywheel.
Lsd
Bigger front brakes.
Coilovers
Front n rear stiffer arbs
Rollcage
Buckets n harness. Hoping rx7 1s fit.
Mac soleniod
Mapping.

More rust proofing....wings are off..rear lights out .
Rang skuzzle left message last week no call back.
Rang mtech no answer.
Rang caged laser..asked about fabricating msa cage hardtop compatiable..no callback.
Old turbo from seller supposed to be dropped off today nothing yet...lol. nobody want my dosh.

Car came with some frp wings....they are shite absolutely no chance of fitting so cut them down and just messing about see if i can use....

FYI - re. Skuzzle, he is currently shut and has made it very clear on is Facebook page that he won’t be reopening until the Coronavirus situation is over.

After abit of advice...
On turbo selection...
So car is a 93 1.6.
It had i believe a chinese gt2860r

Which i feel is too big for a 1.6 and staying stock engine.

So my choices are gt2560r and gt2554r.
BOFI have been very helpful and recommended the gt2554r.

Im assuming will fit straight in..

There is a slip joint on the downpipe so can be adjusted closer to smaller turbo...

The car has running stock clutch and was running actuator pressure on an external WG ...no idea on spring pressure.

Any wisdom greatly appreciated.

very good chat with Daniel at Bofi!

its getting a gt2554r.. ordering the turbo thursday.(payday, ive been on ssp for 6 weeks!!!b4 this virus back at work check im getting paid!) Due to this virus Danial has offered remote tuning to get me up and running.

whizz it around at 170ish on standard clutch check all ok then fit clutch and source a 4.1 torsen and go back for more boost later. hopefully on a track later in year.

Ive got the buckets and harnesses from the fd to trial fit and once sourced some oem seats for that.

1 day off so its arch rolling on agenda and junking these awful fibreglass wings. :D
