Would it not be easier or cheaper to refit HVAC? There's a lot to be said for a heated racecar, more so for one with AC but sadly the Kraken kit fitment is too poor to run it, not that I'm bitter :ROFLMAO:
Bit to much choppity chop for that now lol. Could loop the heater inside the cabin i suppose but in coming up 3 years first issue ive had. Ive dug the electric fan out and its in the spares box now and fresh application of fog ex.
We will see if that suffices next time it rains.
Defo needs a new screen soon, may as well fit the heated 1.

I cant find it but * insert quote where I said said your power level was really high for a stock engine & box after you went 3" exhaust and got a tune *

At least 5 speeds are cheap and you can just pull a few degrees timing to reduce the torque. That being said a lot of failures generally involve excessive heat so might need to do nothing more than swap a box and allow more cool down.

La la la la i cant hear you ha ha...
Josh has sorted my a mk2 gearbox and starter and instruction on how to fit.
Barter system hes bought a mk1 from my home town, winch on trailer drop off and free gearbox. Would have togo there anyway to pick up box. Gotta drop my 5 at my mates to borrow ramp.
Just gotta order a rear main but Josh said did i silcone flywheel bolts and i didnt so suspect leaking from them..
Clutch gotta come off regardless to silicone the flywheel bolts so ill put a new rear main in..

I cant help thinking.. 100mph spin in 5th from grass to backwards onto tarmac shocked the box.. it stalled, i didnt get clutch in. I was in 5th when it went boom. Ive lost all gears but 4th...making a horrible rackit.

Silicone the flywheel bolts? Never heard that before. No reason for oil to leak from them is there as they don't go through to anything in the engine?

O if you did that then yeh 200% that killed it, it's a really rapid change in direction against the momentum of all the rotating assembly.

Ive lost all gears but 4th
stripped teeth from 4th gear (wont stop drive in 4th but all other gears run from 4th through the laygear.) or sheared the laygear by 4th gear...

probably a few spare teeth in the bottom of the box though 🤪

Rich.
I'm still thinking about that silicon thing.... surely that's actually pretty dangerous, they are torque critical bolts and I'd of thought anything slippery like silicon that could interfere with the correct torquing of them would be ill advised? A proper thread sealant is maybe a different matter. I duno, maybe I'm wrong, lol, would like to know though
Apparently oil can weep out the holes. Mine i think went in dry...cant remember.
Will do this time.
Vids on my youtube Boosted13B.
Or search Thruxton 100mph spin.
Convinced thats what killed my box now.

I remember doing a 50/50 mix of gearbox oil, cant for the life of me remember what is was.
Rear main and gearbox o/p seal seal ordered, went Genuine £51.36 more than box cost lol.

Brands Hatch Monday,
Stuck some new front pads in and swapped my tyres about.
Bit nervous about my new 2nd hand gearbox. Time will tell if its any good.
