New Led Sidelights

Got some LED sidelights from eBay, were only a few quid so no loss if they aren't suitable. They are the 501 type with flat square LEDs on the front (4 of them) I had some a while back that were very blue rather than white. These ones are much brighter and whiter, but still seem to have a blue tinge.

Do you reckon they are too blue? They don't look too different in colour to the LEDs you see on the Audis etc. to be honest.

EDIT: Headlamps are only switched onto sidelights to compare the brightness of regular 501 lamps

They do look quite blue... some MOT testers will defo fail them I think.

If you're after really really good white sidelights you can't go wrong with these.

Not the cheapest but I've tried quite a few and these are by far the best.

Here's a pic of them in my old focus... this is JUST the sidelights.

Crikey - they're expensive! (and bright)

I might put mine into the headlamps and put the regular bulbs into the sidelight cluster again. I'll ask my MOT guy what he thinks too.

Yer... they do do some slightly cheaper ones also, most of their 501 whites are pretty good.

Expensive for one-offs but buy a pair & the ?2.88 delivery charge is virtually wiped out......still not cheap I know but you do get what you pay for

White LEDs always look blue because of how the white light is created, it's very difficult (expensive) to get a true white light from an LED, something to do with science

But yeh unless you get some 4300k/6000k HIDs they will stand out as being blue next to your dipped beams

I had similar ones to your pic (blue white) and mine failed the mot on them.

Probably does depend on how stringent the tester is though.

Ric !!
I bought some of these a couple of months back. They're nice and bright, but as they're a "warm white", they don't have that blue tinge to them:

They do look whiter than the headlights do, but not to the point where they look obviously different, if you see what I mean.
Ive got some PIAA super tera leds's in 6000K and they match my HID's perfect.

They were expensive though.

PIAA stuff is indeed good... but expensive as you say.
