Hi all, so basically I like the idea of converting my headlights to be “USDM” purely for aesthetics

I’m wanting the indicators to be my sidelights but the still function as indicators also.. solid orange when side lights are on then do the flashing when using the indicators then back to solid orange when flicked off

has anyone done this/knows how to do this? Tried to have a quick search but nothing has come up

cheers

Not an easy thing to do but possible...

When your side lights are on, there's a 12v+ being sent from multiple places that you can tap into, that serves as your signal for the constant "on" you are looking for.

For getting them to flash with the indicators though, you will need to then intercept the signal that's sent from the indicator relay and you're going to have to build a separate circuit because, when the side lights are on, you need the flasher relay to cut off the signal, rather than send power like it normally does, but you always want it to continue it's normal function when the side lights are off, else you will have no indicators at all during the day time.

Sounds like a lot of hassle.

Thanks for the reply, I knew it would be some sort of electrical nightmare to an extent but thought there may be a simple solution I’m over looking with it being a standard on the USDM and maybe JDM cars

I’m going to try and get hold of a wiring diagram and someone who knows electrics and try to make sense of it

To be honest my side markers are probably going to get deleted. It’s the indicators also functioning as side lights I’m looking to achieve just depends if I can be arsed putting that much time and effort into a purely aesthetic mod that you won’t see half the time
