Finally got round to swapping my toyos from my old wheels yesterday on to the ronals. Looking back i think they looked better on the 45 profile tyre over the 50 of the toyos but the difference in peformance and ride comfort i cant complain really (old 45s were budgets) plus they are brand new tyres. Also the 50 profile has stopped the car catching on a few places where it used to before so win win really

I will get some pictures up shortly for comparison but on a more sad note my tax is up

Treated the car to a bit of a clean yesterday and a good wax

Nothing has changed on the car since last time i posted accept from getting my toyos on (now 50 profile instead of 45)

After coming off the phone to my insurance happy for once

i have managed to sort out insurance for my old fiesta, which means i can drive that through the winter and take the 5 off the road and tuck it away nicely in a garage!

Should be driving this from the start of next month which unfortunetly is the same time the tax runs out! Lol

 

Always had my heart set on an oem front lip for my car, but i have recently took a liking to the garage vary front lip aswell (thanks to horney's v-spec).

Will be ordering one of the two for Christmas but undecided on which to get :s

Mx5 parts has the garage vary lip as unavailable and the oem one in stock with free delivery which is what im swaying towards.

Where else can you buy the garage vary lip from and also what are peoples opinion for my car/style, G vary or Oem?

Yeah pretty much set on the oem one as it definetly suits my car, i do also like the garage vary but i think they go better on lower and wider cars than mine...

Going to order it the day while mx5parts still have there free delivery on.

So ordered the splitter yesterday morning and it has been delivered already, great stuff

With the car being off the road for winter i might just store it for now but the temptation to fit it to see how it looks might take over.

 

Got round to fitting the splitter today but only managed one pic on my mates iphone...

Will get some better pictures in time but we all know what they look like

 

i l-l-l-l-love those wheels! can i ask are they heavy? and what size tyres do u reccomend for them? as i need them in my life! aha

 

No idea of the exact weight but they are alot lighter than my last wheels

I personally like them with 195/50/15 tyres but they originally came on 195/45's and they were very slightly stretched if you like that look.

They're ford racing puma seats (sparco torinos), amazing seats and soo comfy too, hard to come by in good condition now.

How did you get on with mirror polishing yours?

 

I love all the subtle details, cant help but think an offset plate would make it look so much smoother though.

 

Agree, i took the plate off the other day and it looked much cleaner.

If it wasn't for the screw holes behind the number plate (four of them) i would definetly do it.

 

They came up really nicely but it took a long time to get there. I wrote a guide in my project thread (link in signature) if you fancy a read. I have had them all sprayed up now and they are very hard work in the winter to keep looking nice, I have to autosol them every couple of weeks. Once the winter has gone though I will buff them with a mop to get them super shiny again though

 

Nice tidy car there mate & BRG is of course the best colour.....
The wheels look so much better than the BBS ones.

 

Took the car out of hiding for a quick clean...

Need to get it taxed and back on the road as its killing me not driving it

Got a few more bits i need to buy for it like door speakers etc and have now decided the hood needs to go as it's a mess!
