Been lurking round the site for some time now so thought it was time to show off my V-spec roadster.

Heres a few pics of the car i came from, 2001 Fiesta ZS owned it for 3 1/2 years and was a fantastic little car.

Car is staying with family as my parents have bought it so wont really be missed!

Anyways ever since driving my Dads mk2.5 mx5 i had to have one, always prefered the mk1 mx5 and always fancied a black or green V spec.
So after a few poor examples i made the 200 mile round trip to bring this home...

Came with a few nice extras like tan hood cover, stainless manifold, engine brace and bilstein shocks with lowering springs.
Want to keep the car pretty much as it is with a few subtle mods, planning on silenced decat and mx5parts single exit exhaust, the ride on the car is at times very hard so might invest in a different suspension setup in time and finally the wheels need refurbed but i am also keeping my eyes open for a new set.

Stopped overnight at whitby during the week then and had a drive to Scarborough the following morning. Was a nice drive from Whitby to Scarborough with some nice roads and fantastic weather for this time of the year!

Came back to an M.O.T appointment yesterday and thankfully the car passed first time with no advisories so i'm over the moon with that :)

Gave the car a good going over the other day sealing the paintwork whilst i was at it.

Currently searching for insurance which is always a pain every year!

I'm kind of at a crossroad with the car at the moment. I have brought the car to a standard where I'm happy with how it looks and rides (loving the meisters) but having owned the car for three and half year it could be time for a change.

I'm tempted to keep it and up the power (would feel like a new car) or sell up for an S2K or similar

Another massive aerial! ;)

I would suggest getting a slower car that handles badly. Drive it around for a while - maybe as a daily. You'll instantly fall in love every time you get back in the 5 .. especially with a blower of some kind!

We recently bought a Mazda Bongo which I drive a lot more than the 5 (it's parked in front of the garage where the 5 lives), but every now and then I break the 5 loose and praise the day that I decided to keep it :)

How can you let this go ... ? :)

I've driven a couple but never owned one. Don't get me wrong, the engines are a thing of sheer wonder and something to savour these days as the high revving NA motor is likely to never return. The problem I had (and do have to a lesser degree in the Civic) is that to get the best out of the engine you have to break the speed limit by A LOT! From memory 3rd gear Vtec engagement in the S2000 is above the maximum national speed limit. If yo plan on doing a lot of trackdays etc than that is fine, but as just a road car it leaves yo with less fun part of it's character for most of the time.

I also found the steering very numb and the chasis generally not as complaint and forgiving as the Mazda. The later one with TC I drove felt better than the earlier one even with the TC turned off so they certainly made some improvements later on. Much like the 5 though they are very fussy about wheel alignment being correct, I suspect most used ones will be miles off unless enthusiast owned.

All in it's a good car and on track quite the weapon but as a road car you just can't have as much fun it as you can in a 5 without risking many points and much fineage.

One final point. The dash is fricking cool. It's like driving Knightrider!

Edit: Oh and it'll never break down, it's a Honda.
