Evening all. Thought I'd join and say hi. I recently picked up a MK2.5 track car in need of a little TLC and fine tuning. It's my first foray into a track car and I'm looking forward to the challenges. I already have lots of things to educate myself on and lots of questions to ask the more experienced MX-5 Nutterz so please bear with me!

I got my 1.6 mk2.5 stock and im focusing on the underside aero for now, whats the goal with the turbo swap? Top end power or quickkk spool?
Yours sounds like it's going to be a cool project. My underside is currently have the rust removed!

My goal is to have a strong turbo that can hold boost. Looking at the GT2860R most likely and supposedly the spool time isn't too bad on that. Should give me circa 300whp which is my target.

Need to find someone who can create a new map for me from scratch on the ME221 that I've got and is ideally based in the Midlands or nearby

300whp is going to require some engine building, I assume you know this already?

safe stock limits are round about 250bhp which translates to something like 230whp
It's got Maxpeedingrods con rods and king racing bearings etc but it's a stock block so that's my limiting factor. It's been mapped to 320bhp at 14psi

I need a respectable and reliable tuner first and foremost before I do anything

oh nice!

What ECU? I can recommend remote tuners for both ME and MS.
Running the ME221 mate. Remote tuner would be a good start for my current setup so I'd appreciate your recommendation. Eventually I want to get it on a dyno and run a custom map based on my final build and also have someone relatively local that I could take it to and discuss any issues in person
