My 1999 model 1.8 has failed its MOT on the exhust emmisions with a CO2 reading of 0.60% vol, (limit is 0.30) I presume this is sensor fault, any suggestions?

Double check your emissions data slip, I think you mean your CO (Carbon Monoxide) volume was too high? As far as I know CO2 isn't checked at the MOT.

Sounds petty to point out the difference, but if you're producing too much CO, chances are your cat is knackered as it's designed to convert CO to CO2.

If your car is producing too much CO2 on the other hand (not that there's a limit), it could mean your engine is running lean.
