Mk1 Petrol Tank Are They All Same?

My fuel tank on my mk1 1600 eunos roadster has developed a leak, I'm pretty sure on the seam.

I have another tank off what i think is a 1.8 mx5 mk1 are they the same? will it fit? I'll keep my original sender unit, As i presume the 1.8 pump will over fuel.

Also i seem to remember something about the diff to gearbox brace bolts, Is there a technique to getting them out?

i dont see a reason why it wont fit... but im convinced i used to fit nearly 10ltrs more in the 1.8 tank.
I've heard the 1.8 tanks are slightly bigger

- '93 = 45 litres

ha i can only ever get 38litres in mine when the needles as low as i think it'll go.
Maybe i should do a test one day and run it dry with jerry in the boot.

it goes well below the needle before running out...
well i can confirm the tank did fit, and it is bigger, gauge read just over half before swap now its just under. the sender unit was a different depth so i decided that the best plan was to put the 1.8 one in.
all back together after an afternoon of rolling around on my back, the joys of motoring! lol
so a 94 1.8 should be a 48l tank then?

Grr.. i had to peel off a drive-out yesterday as the guage had been on empty for 20min.. and it only took 40l when i filled it up after!!
