Falkirk Wheel, Stirlingshire.

Essentially standard..sorry lads! Does not stop an enthusiast being one though!
A vet once told us it is always better to buy two.They keep each other company apparently.The pained expression was partly due to a wind chill factor of between Holy Crap and J.H.C. The cars kept smiling though

I think I'll also use this excuse when the other-half interrogates me about why I still haven't sold the other car!

I haven't actually been to the Falkirk Wheel since it was built but during my time at Falkirk 'tech we went on a site visit to the wheel when it was all mud and concrete piles were being battered into the ground. They took us up the tunnel (so to speak) that had just been burrowed through he hill-side. It was all quite a spectacular display of engineering especially in an area (where I grew up) where nothing spectacular ever happened..!

Nice cars.

It's to have a matching pair but HWMBO made me sell my Mk1!!

It's like looking at progress right out there on the driveway!

We did not plan double 5 ownership.It developed a momentum of it's own. I suppose it looks a bit OTT to some.The Boss got her's first. After 35 years in the classroom, and our lad not requiring ferried around anymore, it was the chance to treat herself.I had the Hell's own teeth getting the keys.

As it happened, my Lantra(please don't ask)was developing various issues, and threatening to cost more than it's worth. We do need a car each..or will till we retire.Saw the BRG for sale in the Scottish OC forum, drove it, bought it. TBH, a wee oiler would have been more practical but I could not resist the old feller. Not looked back!

Funny thing is...when we go any real distance. SWMBO prefers the MK1. But don't say a bad word about the Crystal!

My sister in law has lectured(when she is not having a go at me)at FT for about 25 years, SWMBO ( her sister) teaches in the Primary behind it. If you recall, at the college, a diminutive redhead with a galactic ego and a voice of a banshee...that's her. I got the quieter of the 2 thank God

If you fancy treating the Mk2.5 to some new bits this seller has OEM boot spoiler & sideskirts.

I`ve got some going on mine in a few weeks & i believe he has them in that colour. (does cash deals too

)
