[Sam is a miata]

Reinstalled the tdo4 that was on before with all same components that ran fine when I got the car. But now my vac line is melting on the wastegate actuator and failing whenever the engine has been under load for about 10 minutes

Any ideas as to what may be causing this as the actuator is not hot to the touch straight after the engine is shut off

Any advice welcome

Have you checked the actuator is functional? If the diaphragm is split, it will be passing air at comp outlet temperature through the hose. Normally, it's dead ended and only flows enough to fill and vent the can so it stays relatively cool. You'll be able to check by trying to blow down the hose into the can. If you can blow through it, it needs a new diaphragm/new actuator depending on if it's a rebuildable type or original crimped top.

The car should go like a stabbed rat for those first 10 mins because the wastegate won't be opening if this is the case. You risk overspeeding the rotor and wheel burst though, fun as it might be.
