MeisterR have been developing the Sportive coilovers for quite some time now, and it is almost here.

The Sportive coilovers is a height adjustable sport suspension designed to work well for every day performance.
The goal of the Sportive suspension is provide great ride quality, sharp handling, all while sitting at a lowered ride height.

The Sportive use 6kg/mm front springs, 5kg/mm rear springs, and are paired with non damping adjustable twin-tube dampers.
The out of the box ride height setting is 12.2" Front / 12.6" Rear ( 310mm Front / 320mm Rear).
The ride height setting are optimised to be between 12.0" to 12.5" front, 12.5" to 13.0" rear.

The Sportive damper valving were developed in house at our UK R&D workshop, and are matched to the paired springs rate.
Ride quality of the Sportive will be supple, compliant, and will ride well over uneven road surfaces.
It won't be as responsive as the mono-tube dampers used on the MeisterR ZetaCRD, but will certainly feel much more controlled than OEM.
One would say the Sportive would be an "OEM+" option, sporty performance but certainly not track dedicated.

The Sportive suspension will come with aluminium top mounts pre-assembled (Rear top mounts are extended), ready to be mounted on the car out of the box.
The damper bodies are electroplated to enhance corrosion resistance.
Bump stop, rubber dust cover, and 1-year warranty are included.

Price are not yet determined, but expected to be around ÂŁ495 delivered.

Here are some pictures of the MeisterR Sportive Coilovers.

Thanks Boosted. I get the lower CoG argument. I dont do trackdays, so I woudl not really want a car which is nailed down to a low ride height.

Standard ride height would be OK for me, but would like some decent suspension which doesnt rattle your teeth over bumps, yes feels well in control when heening round a bend.

I guess I am asking for the Holy Grail!

Yep trade off...looks as well..mine is standard height with bilsteins...so firm dampners with high ride height...its an ok ride bit of body roll..I was looking at progressive springs from eibach...so soft to start and firm up as they compress...then i seen this thread and waiting on progress...update...mine is abit 4x4 especially the back.....

Due to the forum being broke.. info was lost but a road set up is in development at affordable price circa 400 if my memory good...i think height adjustable but dampning and rebound set by Miester.

Yes sorry boosted, I should have been clearer. I've been following it closely and awaiting the release date which should be some time around now. So was hoping for an update. I guess they're not quite there yet.

I thought they were ready. Give Skuzzle as a buzz as he was helping develop them.

Not actually seen mine in the flesh yet as I had them sent directly to our local MX5 expert who is going to fit them for me. Will give you an update in a few days.

A quick update - They look good and very well engineered. Had them fitted professionally this afternoon and it took just on two hours. They llo even better on the car. Cannot compare to an OEM setup as my Eunos had some strange "Rock Hard" coilovers fitted before it left Japan but that said the ride with the "Sportives" is excellent. Firm yet still very reactive to the changing road surface. The steering is very responsive and the general road holding superb.

Can highly recommend.

Rod.

Anyone know if there is a plan to produce these for NC's? I'd be well up for a set if so.
Sorry, no plan for the NC at the moment.

The NC rear top mount pose a difficult challenge.

I am looking into it, but nothing soon for sure.

Hi,

I have a couple of questions. I think the Sportive Coilovers are the way to go for me. I am looking for something that is ready to go from the box and does replace tired old shocks and springs.

1. Do you have any rough estimate on how long is the expected lifetime of the coilovers on mostly street use on not that perfect pavement?

2. Is there a possibility for the shocks to be rebuild?

3. Since my car is going for it's winter sleep in a months time and I am eager to get the suspension sorted before. Would you recommend against having everything installed and than leaving the car in storage for 3-4 moths? Would it be better to put the car on axle stands, or to do it next spring? Not really sure what's best and if I am overcomplicating my life as usual.

4. What is the usual shipping time to Slovenia?

Thank you.

Sorry to ask a noob question here but the rear top mounts being extended, is this so that there's more travel in the rear, same reason as some people put mk2 top mounts on a mk1?
Correct.

You use the extended top mount to optimise compression travel at a certain ride height.

It is the same reason as people putting NB top mount on MK1.

In the Sportive case, it is extended further than what the OEM NB top mount goes to.

That is one way to get the ride height we want along with the compliant ride quality we are after.

Because bouncing on the bump stop all the time is just no fun.
