Picked this up last week and thought I'd start a thread of my progress.

How it stands now...

New mohair roof a year ago made by Jack Smiths in Swansea good condition

Sparco Sprint bucket seat on drivers side with JB Fab mounts

GV front lip

15'' Rota Grid with Rays Volk stickers - stickers will be coming off!

HSD Dualtech dampening adjustable coilvers

Cobalt cat back exhaust from Moss Europe, sound fantastic

Plans:

roll cage

sparco sprint seat for passenger side

Harnesses

put my OMP wheel in

TSI's

white dials with blue illumination

new headunit and drop my sound system in

General tidy up of the car and a few mechanical bits that need sorting

Looks like an awesome base. I agree about the roll cage. White would be a bit shouty in amongst the black roof and parcel shelf. I say leave it Matt black too

Good luck!

I was going to look at this one the day after you bought it!

Let me know if you sell it. MX5's are shit. You really don't want to own one. ;)

cage is already being powder coated guys, I think it'll look good, I paid a good price anyway so if I decide to go back to black its not an issue :)

Sorry Tom :) Unfortunately I'm in love with it so I think I'll be keeping it a while ;)

Small update...

My OMP wheel is in, so much better to drive with a small wheel

Also put my harness in the drivers side, as if it wasn't difficult enough to get in and out the car :) feels great once your in though.

My dad was nice enough to let me swap my headlights with his Raybrig's! He only uses his on track so didn't need the nice headlights. Those fogs definitely need to come out though!

I can't remember of the top of my head, I think 320mm. I would definitely recommend a smaller wheel if you still have the original one. Everything feels so much better. It does cut of my view at the very top of my dials though, but not really an issue.

So finally got round to cleaning it! Also fitted some I.L. Motorsport clear side repeaters and clear reflectors. Just a quick wash so nothing special, I forgot the wheels were white!

Also took out the fog lamps, looks much cleaner now. For sale if anyone wants them.

Took the stickers of the wheels too, which was going well until I got to the last sticker... DOH!
