Wonder if they think the odometer reads in miles and not kilometers? My Roadster records speed in MPH, but distance in Kilos? I hope!

Bloody good point. Ill phone them.

No answer on bith numbers, so I guess they no longer have it.

Steve
it wouldn't surprise me if it had done that many, but ?795 for a car that has done that many K's or M's

Quite possible
Works out at 17,000 miles PA, or around 10,000 miles PA if in Kilos. Either way, not bad!

Red rear reflectors in the photo = Roadster, so it'll probably be 259,000km. (Which is barely run in.
) Mine recently passed 325,000.

so what its an old car!

plus looked after they will easily do over 200000, loads off peopl ein america with more miles than that
Is it a 1.6 or a 1.8? The title says 1.6 but the overview says 1.8. Either way ?795 is a bargain (assuming no hidden horrors).

Its easily worth it in parts and the 5 if looked after will keep on going with minimal outlay probably. Depends if it has any tax or mot.

So what?

It's an about how it's been maintained and if it's done 160,000 miles in the desert or offroad or if it's done most of them on the motorway at 80.

The point being how well the engines last on a 5, I never once stated anything negative in the thread. My post was completely complementary infect.

sorry dude, not dissing your disbelief. Just expressing my own belief that what counts is how it's been looked after and what not how much work it's done.
Best car I ever bought was an old taxi with 250K miles (yes, English miles). Worst car was a 10 yo car with one owner from new...92 yo bloke who kept it in a garage and only ever went to the local supermarket so it averaged around 1K per year. As soon as I used it on the moterway it started falling to bits. Cylinder head gasket went etc. I've never bought a low mileage car again.

Yup, cars do actually like to be used. On the otherhand tho my high mileage 138,000mile MX5 has just had 2 shock absorber failures in 10 miles. On the otherhand it's just been stood for a year and prior to that was perfectly reliable. Ho hum.....
