The wiring has had ISO convertor blocks fitted & these then attached to my JVC stereo own ISO connectors - alls fines except that i believe that its attached to the switchable 12volt feed as the stereo only works when the sidelights or headlights are on

what colour is the permananent 12 volt power cable? - tried directly connecting wires but to no avail

any help gladly received

cheers

I have a Mk2 (2000) and just fitted a double din unit.
You may have a separate earth connection with a female spade on coming out from the car's wiring loom (black wire), as well as a black wire fitted to the ISO plug. Fit a connection between the two if there is no obvious link.
Red wires are main power. Orange wires are secondary power.
Got all the connection colours written down somewhere if you need them.

This is a diagram of the standard ISO wiring spec. Obviously it is lacking the car specific connectors. I would image as said your have the red and orange wires crossed some how.

The seperate earth is a feature of all pre-2001 Mazdas.
