you will need to get an msa race license, join a local club (barc etc), set of race overalls, pair of race gloves and a helmet. then just book yourself into an event online. I race at harewood and it's a fairly relaxed paddock with all skill levels competeing

Do u have to have an msa licence or is there a "turn up, pay and drive" ?

Good resource for beginners, you do need a licence but there is no medical or track test like ARDS, you just pays yer money and gives them a bit of info.
Mate of mine used to race bikes, then cars, but now hillclimbs just because its so much cheaper and less wear on the car, while still retaining a decent competitive atmosphere
