Forum Newbie - Anyone Nr Hemel?

I have been thinking about getting a Mk1 MX5/Eunos but I am not at all sure I will fit in one as I am 6'3". Is there anyone on the forum who lives near-ish Hemel Hempstead and would let me sit in their car?!

You will fit! There a plenty of tall owners on here. Opinion seems to be that a MK1 offers slightly more room than a MK2 or MK2.5.

Tricks include smaller steering wheel or wheel spacer to bring the wheel nearer & increase legroom. Others do a foamectomy (remove some seat foam so you sit lower down / further back). Have a search on here there has been plenty of topics on the subject.

Welcome along! I'm 6'1 and have no real problems sitting in a mk1.

If your in no real hurry to buy, there is a Hemel meet, organised by MILES, see the appropriate thread on here and there are plenty of people who would let you have a sit in the various types.

Thanks chaps. From what I have heard, I hope I should be able to fit in one but I am long-bodied and can't, for example, fit in a mate's Z3M Coupe or an S2 Lotus Elise (well, I can physically get in but can't sit in the seat properly)

I'll try to find the info on the Hemel meet - thanks for the pointer. I feel like I'm in a hurry but I still have some work to do to persuade her indoors! (I really like the look of this: http://www.mx5nutz.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=48601)

Chequers pub, redbourne , pm miles for next date, usually 2nd tues of the month, all marks usually present even the odd mk3, more than welcome for a spin in mine
