I have decided to get rid of the 1.2 Clio for an early Focus C-Max 04-05 (£3k or under) with have around 70k + miles.

Does anyone know which of the engines are non-interference if any?

There are plenty for sale in budget but very few if any locally with cam belt change done. I believe the 1.8 durance engine are chain driven, which should be the most reliable?

The diesels are chain and belt driven? Good mileage but expensive to fix?

go for the 1.6 sigma (this is the yamaha developed unit) engine petrol they're nice and simple and other than eating coilpacks theyre a good engine and don't worry about the cambelt 1.5 hours labour to swap and a full gates cambelt kit is around £70 so £160 and it's done, i've never liked that 1.8tdci bastardisation of the old ford escort engine and aren't proving cheap to run when all factors are added up
