Flag On Items For Sale Stating Sold

406 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  AndyK
Hi,

I'm a noobie to the forum, but I'm getting fustrated about getting all excited when new items come up for sale only to find having scrolled through several replies that the item is sold

I'm sure this may have been covered before, but is there any way to mark an item sold to avoid the disappointment I and I'm sure others suffer?

Tony

The moderators arent going to go out of their way to check that every for sale post is closed (that subforum is probably the busiest part of nutz!) but if a seller has sold an item they are very welcome to click the "report to moderator" button and just say "item sold - please close thread". One of us will close it.

However, it gets very tedious when people say "please close my thread, ive changed my mind" and we close it, only for the next day to say "please re-open it, i now want to sell again". This actually happens, unbeleivably

Just to confirm - use the group moderator button, please avoid contacting mods individually for things like that. It usually means things will get resolved quicker as we arent all around the same times.

Hi,
I was not for a moment suggesting Moderators check every post, but many car forums provide the originator of the post to mark a post in a for sale thread as sold. May I presume this function is not available to us?
I think there should be a way to edit the thread title so it reads SOLD at the start or something? That would be good
Should be down to the OP to update the first post, or last post, in my opinion. Whilst on the subject, would be good if sellers left the price on after sale to give a guide to people selling similar in the future. Many sellers remove the price and replace with 'SOLD', having this price reference helps avoid the 'how much is it worth' posts.

This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
