Ta da!

3 MX5's, an ?11.99 camera and half an hour learning how to use Windows Movie maker and Youtube.

Quality is a bit poorer than I expected, but thats Youtube for you, it looks and sounds miles better on my PC.

Enjoy!

Youtube link

Heres the cars - camera was mounted to the back of mine, the Black one.

I decided to miss out the the bit where I hit a pheasant and sprayed Dans car with guts and feathers, and the massive pothole that jiggled my exhaust so hard its cracked the manifold/bellhousing mounting bracket...

that's so cool - a tenner gets you a waterproof HD camera?!?!
Thanks for that video, I have ordered one of those cameras myself now
From the other thread -

Its the lastest ebay sensation - the 'MD80 spy camera'. Loads of people buying them on all sorts of forums, for cycling, track days, skydiving etc.

Tip is to buy one WITHOUT a bundled Micro SD card (Mine was £11.99 from Hong kong in 5 days or so) and then buy seperately a good quality, Class 6, SDHC 8gb card. The better the card the faster the camera can write to it, so you get better frame rate.

For the money its a fun little toy.
Its not eactly brilliant but its pretty good - especially if you have nice bright light. It was a very grey, overcast day and the camera got filthy, which is why the picture is a bit grey. I'll be trying again soon on a nicer day.

The camera comes with a couple of mounts, I have one ziptied to my roll bar, and the other one clipped on just inside the number plate recess.

I'll try work out how to epxort to better quality next time, and use a higher resolution format for youtube.

ETA - Scott from Pistoneads who runs roadsporthire.com has been messing about the the same cameras too, had a good chat with him on Sunday.

Am I missing something here....

I have a fairly basic nokia and it takes better quality video that that, so whats all the fuss about ? why not just strap your phone to the dash ?

is it waterproof? I have been looking for something I can strap on my mountainbike and this might fit the bill.

Does it recharge via the usb?

Would you ducktape your nokia to front grill or side behind front wheel? It's cheap so if bad happens, its not a big loss..

Why would I want to ?

To get a decent view of the road I'd tape it to the RV Mirror looking forward or the cabin brace looking rearward.

I just ordered one and it says it does in the ad

WTF is up with you ?

I ask a reasonable question why would I want to tape it behind a front wheel ?

I guess you could also stick it up your ar$e... but again I don't want to do that.
