Exhaust Manifold To Turbo

Hi,

I'm obviously missing something as my black cat motorsport td04 manifold and td04 (off subaru) - neither are threaded. I'm reading everywhere that I should be using studs and locking nuts, rather than nuts and bolts.

Should I be tapping one of them? Or have I missed the point... Apologies if really obvious question / answer.

My turbo had either two or three studs in the exhaust housing when I bought it. I used nuts/bolts on the remainder and have had no issues with them working loose with either road use or mild track abuse

That manifold was bolted to the turbo when
I took it apart with nuts and bolts.

No risk of a snapped stud that way. I know which I would prefer!
