Exhaust Manifold Gasket - Mk 2 1.8?

Can anyone tell me if the exhaust gaskets are universal from the Mk1 to Mk2 1.8i as they are with the 1.6i engines?

They only seem to be sold by engine size (not Mk) on Moss Parts and MX5parts do not seem to stock one specifically for the Mk 2 1.8i?

Why do you need one? if fitting a new manifold you will be able to use the old ones. They are 2 stainless steel parts rather than the normal crush tin plate jobs.

Well, it's mainly because I don't like the idea of re-using an 11 year old gasket and the ones for the 1.6 are cheap as chips, so I thought I may as well change it if I'm going to the hassle of taking the exhaust manifold off.

Am I over-gilding the lilly, or, if I'm not, can anyone confirm that the Mk 1 1.8 gasket is the same as the Mk 2 1.8 so that I can pick one up?
