this particular part of the forum says anything goes!

i work for them and i hate the company worst ive ever worked for
1) You have a job
2) Change if you are so miserable. There is always work for Class 1's..if you are any good.
3) What would the company say about you? (Don't respond...it was a rhetorical question.)
well I guess this is one way to get fired...

WHat do you do for them? examples of why they are shit?
So resign then, or are you happy to slag off the company and take their money?

As has been said you have a job. There are plenty on here that have lost their jobs due to the recession.

In Answer to your replies im also loosing my job as a redundancy in june as they feel fit to relocate the depot to the other side of the country and if you must Know there actually isnt any class 1 or class 2 work around here at all
Well you are probably feeling hard done by, If you can see it as a chance to move on then that helps, best of luck finding a new job, all the best.

Manpower, Blue Arrow, Driver Hire...need I go on?
Well why didn't you justify your original barraging in your original post rather than not quantify your statement and leave yourself open to a flaming.

I'm sorry to hear you are losing your job, but if there is no class 1 HGV work out there then how come many of my squaddie mates rake it in when they are on leave driving?

I only don't bother because I don't like driving wagon and drag.
I know im sorry shouldnt of started by just slagging them off its probably not their fault but its hard, and life just seems to get harder and harder i have moved house for 3 jobs now and all 3 ive been made bloody redundant lol i mean talk about bad luck im only 24 and it doesnt feel like my life is going any where fast at the moment just want a steady job which is secure
sorry guys just gutted bout it

dont worry about it we all know times are hard atm, your job/moving record is certainly the unluckiest i've heard of for a while, that even includes our local dockworkers at goole, that my friend is an unbelieveably hard lifestyle

Was speaking to one today in the pub, 12 hour shifts 6 days a week (night or day depending on boat arrivals, only told 2 weeks in advance in most cases) working for the same amount of money as a supermarket checkout supervisor...... never complains always has a happy face on with life. now most workers are being laid off and sadly since they have worked the docks all their lives, they dont have alot if any transferable skills (on paper anyway) to use to get a new job
hes a lucky one as far as he knows (doesnt turn in sick a rediculous amount / worked there for 30+ years) but you just never know.

Private companies only have one thing on their mind, or paper, which is profit and sady the easiest way to become more efficent is to reduce your workforce and make the workers you keep work harder. silly world we live in, no community ideals just money money money

i know this wont make you feel any better but i just couldnt believe what he told me today, its sad news for the hard workers in our society, including yourself.

Maybe it's because your sqaddie mates are taking all the work? what's left over after the Poles have taken all the rest anyway.

Option 1: join the army OK you get shot at on occasion, but you get to drive lorries.

Option 2: Become Polish a bit like option 1 but without the guns.

Good luck anyway.

hey yea that is quite harsh i think alot of people are suffering the harder side of life at the moment and some times it just doesnt seem fair at all im hoping that this resession will end very soon and every body can start leading a more healthy/better lifestyle

Lol yea exactly poles have made it hard for the driving industry, not just driving tho alot of non skilled positions and agencies and local employers are more preferable to employing eastern europeans now maybe they work harder for less i dont no :s
The dockers story puts it into perspective, still very hard to deal with when it happens to you, at the age of 24 i bought my first house 1984, in september of 1985 i split with my girlfriend, lost my driving licence and my job, despatch riding, all in the same week, i was lucky i could rent out the rooms for a few quid but had to do a warehouse job for a third of the money i was used to. Agency work could tide you over for a while but what about retraining for a different job, just an idea, i went back to college as a mature student became a plumber and gas man at the age of 36, hav`nt looked back since, kind regards tony.
Trouble with that is colleges are not interested in mature students any more. Their funding is based on offering places to as many under 19 year olds as possible (most of whom they will expel as soon as the cheque clears). So there are no places for mature student for whom they is little (if any?) funding anyway.

What adult education there is is aimed at dipsos basic maths, computer skills and English for immigrants.

(it's that man again)
