I know the general consensus on here is that the ebay turbo kits like the one linked below are rubbish.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-89-90-91-92-93-MIATA-MX5-1-6L-T3-T4-TURBO-KIT-MX-5_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem19b6d394cbQQitemZ110441501899QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

What I want to know is why? is it just the fact that the manifolds and down pipes are prone to cracking? The one I have linked above actually looks like a decent kit (has everything)

Discuss reasons to them being bad please.

No No No No No.

How many people (in the UK) do you hear of running an ebay special turbo kit?

How many people do you hear of running a Begi, Greddy, HKS, AVO, or FM turbo kit?

one reason, the ebay kits are gash, hell, the Greddy kit was pretty pump but it did at least work.

I'd say the quality of the materials and workmanship is below standard on the ebay kits, things don't fit as they should, wear out quickly, crack, break down etc... think about it, if the manifold & downpipe crack then what's left? a turbo and a few oil lines? hardly worth it.

Just because a kit has all the bits doesn't necessarily mean it's any good.
