Crank Shaft Pulley Bolt Seized

Need some advice please. Doing Cam belt on mk2

The big 21mm bolt on the crank shaft is stuck. I have had heat on it, wd40 for a few days soaking, a bar and socket, whacked it, swore at it and now given up on it.

How can I get the nut off? Its not left hand thread is it?.....

Hi if you can get hold of some metal scaffold tube from anywhere or something similar. You can slide it over your breaker bar making your force a lot greater than with just your normal bar. Hope this helps Danny

What size breaker bar are you using? Impact socket and 1m breaker bar works for me, normal sockets and bars just seem to bend. Make sure you've got a torque wrench big enough to refit!

Last time I did one of these, the engine was out, flywheel to floor and between the steel toe caps and my knees, and it took the biggest airgun I could find. Even then, it took a good few minutes to do anything - It's not a left hand thread, it just needs perciverance and more swearing. Promise!
cheers guys, will keep trying, started to doubt my ability to undo a nut last night!

will try harder on Friday!
