Depends on the sensor tbh. All the ones I've used have come with sealant over the threads to seal. If yours doesnt then I'd either use some, or use the crush washer in the pack. You'll need something to ensure a proper seal and no leaks.

You can't use a normal washer. You need a copper/aluminium crush washer that is able to deform and take up the sealing imperfections. The sensor also needs to be one compatible with a washer, with a flat sealing surface for a washer otherwise you are unlikely to get a good seal. Thread sealant can be used instead if this is the case.

Need a ring spanner really. Most people (me included) leave that 3rd bolt off once we've had it off once.
