General info:
Parts have been professionally machined from aircraft-grade aluminium alloy with excellent corrosion resistance. More info about reroute purpose can be found here: http://coolant-reroute.com/ and in this topic: https://www.mx5nutz.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=89997

Few hints and tips:
- installation requires you to move the charcoal canister a few centimetres aside, or you can remove it altogether - the removal is very easy and there are many guides available online

- in case you have EGR system on your car, you will need to delete the EGR (I have the blanking kit for ÂŁ15) or modify the EGR pipe
- install the thermostat with weep hole facing the top (upwards)
- for VVT engines (Sportive) use a non-VVT head gasket
- don't delete the heater core as it's wise to keep the coolant flowing, unless it's a track car

Basic kit - ÂŁ89

A.) For engines with fan switch in front of the engine (1.6 NA - http://diy.icydesigns.com/i/368-p2.jpg)
B.) For engines without fan switch in front of the engine (all except 1.6 NA)
C.) WIth core plug (regardless of the engine), if you want to freeze plug the outlet - parts needed are included

Spacer options (included in the price):
1.) Standard (stock heater, stock gauge)

2.) Standard with 1/8" NPT thread for additonal temperature gauge

3.) Heater delete (no coolant outlet for heater hose) and 1/8" NPT thread

Hose: Gates 22436 rubber hose for ÂŁ29 or you can design your own hose connection (e.g. if you want silicone hoses).

Housing: you can use a 1.6 NA housing or get housing from me - used for ÂŁ15 or new Kia for ÂŁ22 (1.8 NA/NB and 1.6 NB housings cannot be used).

Thermostat: you can keep yours or replace with a high flow stainless steel thermostat for £12, either 88°C (OEM) or 82°C

Prices include delivery to virtually anywhere. Payment via Faster payments, BACS, Paypal, Transferwise or SEPA transfer in EUR. Please note it does not include fees (in case of Paypal). Delivery usually takes 4-6 working days (UK and EU).

How to order: PM me with the kit you want and I will send you payment details.

Feel free to ask if you have any questions.

did any of you take a pic of what you filed flat as I have the engine out at the moment and will be doing this soon :)
Well I didn't :( however it is easy to sort and you have the advantage of easy access with your engine being out of the car! When you offer up the spacer, you may only be able to get the top bolt in as the bottom of the spacer is fouling on the top of the bell housing. I machined (read, used a flat file :) ) and took off approximately 1.5mm to form a "flat" at the bottom of the spacer about 25mm long and the full widths of the spacer, that's all it was. If you look at the spacer, the heater hose take off will be at 9 o'clock position viewed as from the rear of the engine, the "flat" will be at 6o'clock, plenty of meat on the spacer at this point and does not encroach on the bolt holes or anything else so no big deal. Easy when you have the part in your hand to look at.

I need a kit for my 1994 1.8 turbo but I'm utterly confused :(

Issue with clearing the gearbox has been resolved for all reroute kit orders since now.

2 mm of material is removed from bottom of the spacer. My apology for all those who were affected.

For 1.8 you need the "B" kit. What exactly can I help you with?

Question about the front fan switch in the blanking plate. What's the tap thread specs for it? I need to make a thread for my blanking plate and have no idea of the sizes

Exactly :) But as I said, you can try to fit your OEM and only order new if you experience issues (weep hole must be at the top, or very close to the top - from 11 to 1 hour on the clock).

There is nothing wrong with one-valve thermostat if it's a quality product, for NBFL Mazda used it too (http://www.mx5parts.co.uk/thermostat-genuine-mazda-mk25-p-1545.html).

Btw. I just finished working on simplified installation guide for reroute kit: http://coolant-reroute.com/installation.html

Hi, the small change only took off about 2mm of material at the bottom side of the spacer to clear some of the gearboxes. I'm 100% sure it's not related to your leakage.

Suggested troubleshooting:

  • check the hose connection(s), on some of them I even used two steel hose clips to have it extra secure
  • check if the coolant outlet barb is tightened properly
  • the last thing can be leaking gasket, if you didn't have the engine out while installing the kit it's very tricky to get it there right without damaging it
