General info:
Parts have been professionally machined from aircraft-grade aluminium alloy with excellent corrosion resistance. More info about reroute purpose can be found here: http://coolant-reroute.com/ and in this topic: https://www.mx5nutz.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=89997

Few hints and tips:
- installation requires you to move the charcoal canister a few centimetres aside, or you can remove it altogether - the removal is very easy and there are many guides available online

- in case you have EGR system on your car, you will need to delete the EGR (I have the blanking kit for ÂŁ15) or modify the EGR pipe
- install the thermostat with weep hole facing the top (upwards)
- for VVT engines (Sportive) use a non-VVT head gasket
- don't delete the heater core as it's wise to keep the coolant flowing, unless it's a track car

Basic kit - ÂŁ89

A.) For engines with fan switch in front of the engine (1.6 NA - http://diy.icydesigns.com/i/368-p2.jpg)
B.) For engines without fan switch in front of the engine (all except 1.6 NA)
C.) WIth core plug (regardless of the engine), if you want to freeze plug the outlet - parts needed are included

Spacer options (included in the price):
1.) Standard (stock heater, stock gauge)

2.) Standard with 1/8" NPT thread for additonal temperature gauge

3.) Heater delete (no coolant outlet for heater hose) and 1/8" NPT thread

Hose: Gates 22436 rubber hose for ÂŁ29 or you can design your own hose connection (e.g. if you want silicone hoses).

Housing: you can use a 1.6 NA housing or get housing from me - used for ÂŁ15 or new Kia for ÂŁ22 (1.8 NA/NB and 1.6 NB housings cannot be used).

Thermostat: you can keep yours or replace with a high flow stainless steel thermostat for £12, either 88°C (OEM) or 82°C

Prices include delivery to virtually anywhere. Payment via Faster payments, BACS, Paypal, Transferwise or SEPA transfer in EUR. Please note it does not include fees (in case of Paypal). Delivery usually takes 4-6 working days (UK and EU).

How to order: PM me with the kit you want and I will send you payment details.

Feel free to ask if you have any questions.

Fitting it off the car will be so much easier! my hands are scratched and cut to hell and back! Only downside is you will only find out that you positioned the thermostat in the wrong place and it leaks when its in the car! I had to re fit and test mine 3 times before getting it to seal and seat correctly.

I used a genuine thermostat and found that it fitted fine but had to be in a specific spot for the 1.6 cover to sit properly. In order to do this i basically glued it down with instant gasket sealant to stop it spinning/moving inside and put this sealant on every sealing surface to go belts and braces. Results were good and i see 9 degree's C less than standard cooling system. SUCCESS! :thumb-up:

Hi, are any of these kits still available?

Good news!

I'm pretty sure it's a 'B' kit i'm after (otherwise standard 1994 1.8 Eunos), but I'll visually check tonight and then get an order through to you.

Hi,

I haven't had a chance to get under the bonnet and remove the crossover to check... Would I be right in saying that the mk1 1.6 has the fan switch in front of the engine whereas the mk1 1.8 uses the sensor at the back of the engine?

If someone can confirm this, I can order ASAP?

Excellent, thanks!

Tycjan, Vincent2010 - replied to PMs. Usually I'm not on the Internetz during weekends, sorry :)

Currently the kits are out of stock as all were sold within a week. New ones should be ready in 7 days or so, I'll keep you updated

Because of current unavailability I will prolong the discounted price accordingly through January. Thanks for understanding.

Your "idle" (lowest) temperature is set by your thermostat opening temperature regardless of whether you have reroute or not. You can run too cold if you change OEM thermostat to cooler one or when it's faulty. With 88 deg. thermostat I see no reason for engine to run cold.

On 1.6 turbo with 82 deg. thermostat I idle on 80-83 degrees C. For stock engine I recommend 88 degree thermostat.

Ok , have fitted this but had problems as it fouls the top of the gearbox (1.8 with 6 speed) . I had to remove about 1-1.5mm of material from the very bottom to allow it to fit. Also the temp sender wont allow fitment of the dual opening thermostat when its installed in the correct position. I have put the sender at the front of the engine and blanked this opening off.

Otherwise quality is good.

Thanks for the info and sorry for the issue, I will make necessary adjustments to clear 6-speed gearbox.

About the thermostat - I mention that two-valve might not fit properly in my first post (parts needed and installation instructions). I provide a copper O-ring to raise the sensor a bit, so it has a more room if necessary. With one-valve type I didn't need to use it, everything fitted together well.

Just to add, my Eunos is 1.6 5 speed and found the spacer also fouled at the bottom, no biggy to file a "flat" to it though! As said quality great and whilst I did not enjoy doing it ( a bit tight and fiddly) all sorted today, probably about 3 hours in total but had a few other bits to remove :( up and running again, great! And thanks whisper!

Similar comment - garage said they had to machine some of the spacer off to get it on without fouling the gearbox (1994 1.8 5-speed). Otherwise good kit and has been working well.
