Personally I never had any leaks with my setup (rotating the upper radiator hose and connecting it to 1m flexible silicone hose). I'm curious what MikeL and Piss-whistler will report as they both ordered one today.

Mine wasn't leaking however after some donuts at Le Mans it sprung a leak which I temporarily fixed by adding another clamp. Although I think I've just read about something that may help - constant torque clamps as I have definitely had leaks after the engine has been switched off. PM incoming!

Sorry if I have missed the answer, there's a lot of information in this thread, so if I have, please point me to it. I run an MS2, but wanted to know if the stock ecu will run fine without the fan switch, just in case I need to re install the stock ecu for any reason?

Replied to all. Thanks for the interest, I'm happy that the kits are useful for all of us!

Anyone got their Gates hose fitted yet? I'd be curious to see some photos and get feedback.

Hi Samuel, my Gates hose arrived today so hopefully I will be able to fit it at the weekend.

I haven't got any pictures of my install but I'm currently running a 45 degree silicone hose out the back of the block clamped to an aluminium tube which then uses the standard mx5 top rad hose to connect it to the rad.

I'm replacing this with the Gates hose as it eliminates two potential leak points so should be more robust as I have had trouble getting mine to seal between the silicone hose and the aluminium tube - not a problem with the re-route spacer itself BTW.

Hi Samuel,

My kit arrived today, nice one. The parts look good quality and the massive Gates hose is awesome!

Thank you for all your advice and attention to detail, it's great that you take a real interest in what your customers are doing. Top quality.

As soon as I start fitting it I'll take photos but alas that won't be until my manifold and downpipe kit arrives from Revent.

cheers - Andy

Well, doesn't seem like an easy job... Definitely not without changing the elbow for a different one.

I really don't want to change that elbow, it mounts the IAT sensor, and has a take off for the idle valve and bov, it's really good.

I might just order the part anyway and figure it out later!

I've got the same issue. Flyin Miata inlet pipe (except mine is the old steel inlet pipe) which seems very close to the rad inlet. Haven't come up with a solution yet...

I want to order one of these kits, but I can't figure out how I'm going to route the coolant pipe to my rad inlet, I've got a fantastic but awkwardly positioned Flyin Miata elbow off the inlet.

Does anyone have any ideas?

How come you've got that constant torque clamp on the throttle body? Came with the kit I guess? I thought they were more for coolant hoses to take into account the thermal expansion and contraction of the hose.

I got a Pro-Alloy radiator for mine and they were kind enough to make it with the inlet pipe right on the top corner of the rad allowing me to bring a hose in a straight line to it alongside the throttle and FM elbow. I used a Silicon Hoses flexible hose from reroute thermostat cover right round to the radiator.
The downside is I have a nice unused Stoney Racing radiator sat in a box taking up space (what I was going to use before I realised getting the hose to it would be a horrid, inefficient mess).
Since air leaks easier than water I think those clamps are the best solution.
