Contitech Belts

just been talking to my mate who runs a local motor parts place to see what stock of 6 ribs he carries on the shelf ready for my conversion at the weekend and hes got various sizes that i could possibly use but they are all contitech.....anyone got any experience of them? i dont mind using one to get the car running then swapping to gates, which will only be a 2min job once the auto tensioner is on. and the fact he gave me a free belt to try for size helps

Give it a go mate, I would think it'd be fine being a 6-rib with good tensioning on it. Even just to have in the boot as spare.
What Craigo said.

I managed to find a Bosch belt in the size I use, sadly I destroyed it and it's discontinued in that size.

Was the highest quality belt I've ever seen, was almost a work of art! Gutted it got trashed.
cheers guys l will let you know how i get on with it

Just fitted a 4 rib Contitech yesterday, thought I'd try one, so not a long experience of it only a couple of hundred miles, does look like a quality bit of manufacturing though!
i sell contitech belts for a living through eurocarparts. we dont get warranty issues. ever

PJB did you get a Contitech belt , I see Durango seem impressed with the quality just wondering what your views were.

Now I've fitted the BRP tensioner my old belt is a wee bit to long so I thinking of getting one through my local Euro car parts who have plenty on the shelf.

Yes i fitted one but mines a 6 rib, the quality seems good but only time will tell..... what i did notice was how much it stretched in a short space of time. it was very tight to get on the first time i fitted it and after taking it off after couple of days it dropped back on no problem so had stretched a few mm but i suppose this is common
